He confessed in an interview that he could not control to consume alcohol and pills in that phase. He admitted to have spent over $7 million in an effort to display himself as sober and went to rehab for around 15 times.
His addiction lead him to severe health problems and was hospitalized in 2000 pertaining to pancreatitis. The paramedics reached the site at around 4 pm only to discover that Perry was dead. Initially, the death of Perry was declared as an accident.
Matthew Perry death investigation leads to arrest of five suspects
The officials started an investigation in May 2024 and discovered excess amount of ketamine infused then it was required to treat anxiety and depression. The ketamine discovered in the dead body of Matthew Perry was not the one used for the infusion therapy. The Los Angeles Police Department and Drug Enforcement Team investigated the cause of death. It was concluded that Perry was overdosed on ketamine on 28th October 2023.
On 15th August, the authorities declared the identity of people who were involved in his overdose that included his personal assistant Kenneth Iwamasa who teamed up with other arrestees involving two doctors, and a drug distributor Jasveen Sangha also known as Ketamine Queen. It is also suspected that Kenneth injected Perry on the day he passed away. Three of the alleged have already pleaded guilty, one of them being Kenneth Iwamasa.
The family members including his stepfather Keith Morrison praised the efforts of the investigating team and told that they were still heartbroken by the death news of Matthew Perry. They appreciated the justice about to be provided to their loving Perry by the law enforcement team.
